Other Information
The Consular Section of U.S. Embassy Luanda can:
Issue a Consular Report of Birth Abroad when an American citizen has a child abroad. In Angola, we process the documents for children born to American citizens in Angola; we also can assist with the process for American citizens resident in Angola who may have arranged for their child's birth in a third country (i.e., South Africa or Portugal).
Handle personal estates of deceased U.S. citizens.
Assist with absentee voting and Selective Service registration. For information on absentee voting see the federal voting assistance program. For any voting issue, please send an e-mail to the Consular Section of the US Embassy in Angola at voteluanda@state.gov .
Provide U.S. tax forms, also available online from the IRS.
Provide information regarding other U.S. government services, including Social Security and veterans' benefits.
Consular Officers cannot act as travel agents, banks, lawyers, investigators, or law enforcement officers. Please do not expect them to find you employment, get you residence or driving permits, act as interpreters, search for missing luggage, settle disputes with hotel managers, or obtain Angolan or third country visas for you. They can, however, tell you how to get help on these and other matters.
